Police have caught 11 members of an illegal pyramid sales ring yesterday in central China's Hubei Province after they allegedly injured seven officers and smashed two police trucks with rocks.
Police rushed to a neighborhood committee office in Danjiangkou City around 5 p.m. after receiving a report that more than 50 members of the ring gathered in the office and attacked committee officials, yesterday's Chutian Metropolis Daily reported.
The report didn't say why the dispute broke out.
More than 10 officers arrived at the scene and calmed the dispute. But some people attacked officers when questioned and then picked up rocks and heaved them at the police vehicles. Seven officers were hurt before the attackers fled.
Police launched a citywide hunt and caught 11 who were allegedly involved in the attack by 11p.m..
