Hundreds of delegates to the National People's Congress arrived in Beijing on Friday to attend the upcoming annual session of China's top legislature.

Delegates from 15 provinces, including eastern China's Jiangsu province, arrived in the morning, while delegates from 13 other regions, including Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macao, arrived in the afternoon.

The 10th National People's Congress opens its annual plenary session on March 5. The 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, convenes its fifth annual plenary session on March 3.

Two new and highly important laws are expected to be adopted during the NPC session: the property law and the corporate income tax law.

Motions aimed at fighting corruption and building a clean government are also expected to be tabled at the two upcoming sessions.

An online poll on Sina.com shows taxes, education fees and healthcare are among the top issues people want addressed at the meetings. Rocketing property prices, lax food safety supervision and misappropriated social security should also be priorities.
