Citizens to travel by trains during the yearly Spring Festival
transport peak can buy tickets starting Sunday evening, Beijing
Times reported.
The sale is to start at 7:00 pm Sunday, according to the Beijing
railway authorities which reminded that each person is limited to
buy five berth tickets or 10 seat tickets at most.
People can buy tickets for Z and D series trains 10 days before
departures and tickets for K and T series can be bought 4 days
ahead of travels, said the Beijing Railway Bureau.
Tickets for the lines towards Sichuan Province, Chongqing
Municipality and northeastern areas are hot at present, the bureau
unveiled.
Railway police will launch special crackdown on scalpers to
secure a smooth transport. 51 cases related to illegal ticket sale
have been handled from January 1 to 10, revealed a spokesman for
local railway police.
This year's Spring Festival transport period will last 40 days,
from January 23 to March 2, with more than 15 million passengers
expected to take trains of the Beijing bureau, 900,000 more than
that over the same period in 2007.
