The Ministry of Science and Technology approved the establishment of the Yellow River Delta Sustainable Development Research Center, according to information released by the Department of Science & Technology of Shandong Province on Dec 13.

The center's major tasks include building databases, training scientific professionals and technical personnel, promoting scientific development and cooperation with other institutions and companies and providing them with practical information and consult.

The center will work with other institutions in the researches in three fields: the efficient use of resources, the ecological environment improvement and the marine resources development.

In addition, it will build institutions to provide information regarding regional agriculture, ecology, marine economy, disaster prevention and sustainable use of resources.
