A long-maned goat sent by Taiwan as a gift to the Chinese mainland gave birth to a lamb in a national park in Weihai, Shandong Province, on Jan. 11, 2012.
The lamb was born at 12:48 a.m. and is about 15 cm high. It successfully stood up on its own one hour after being delivered.
Its mother "Leyangyang" ("happy goat" in Chinese), arrived with her partner "Xiyangyang" ("merry goat") and a pair of deer at the Liugongdao National Forest Park in the city in April last year, and greeted the public on May 28.
Long-maned goats are endangered species and are indigenous to Taiwan.
The female deer gave birth to a healthy fawn in the park on Oct. 26, 2011.
