Ports in Shandong handled 347 mln tons cargo in Jan.-Apr.

From January to April, coastal ports in Shandong province handled 347 million tons of cargo, up 8.8 percent over the same period last year. Among them, 204 million tons were for foreign trade, up 12.3 percent.

The three large port groups, including Qingdao, Rizhao and Yantai, accumulatively handled 298 million tons of cargo, accounting for 85.7 percent of the total. Among them, Qingdao port dealt with 137 million tons, Rizhao 95.91 million tons, and Yantai 64.63 million tons, respectively up 6.5, 10.5, and 9.2 percent.

In addition, Weihai port handled 17.95 million tons, up 18 percent; Weifang port 6.41 million tons, up 25 percent.
