Gold-rush town in Shandong
The gold-rush town, located in Zhaoyuan, Yantai city, Shandong province, is the biggest tourist spot in China focusing on a gold rush experience. With investments exceeding 600 million yuan (US$ 94.38 million) the town features imitations of Song-dynasty-style buildings and folk customs of gold transactions, food and entertainment. Zhaoyuan is reputed as the 'China's gold capital'. [China.org.cn]
