Shandong's expressway is on track to top 5,000 km

In the first three quarters, Shandong's investment in major highway projects totaled 8.46 billion yuan (US$ 1.36 billion). The total length of expressway in the province is on track to top 5,000 kilometers at the end of this year, according to the provincial transit authority.
The principal section of the Qinglin expressway is completed. The expressway will be a major North-South passage extending through the center of the province.
The highways from Binzhou to Dezhou and from Gaotang to Linqing have been opened to traffic.
The main backbone of the high-rank expressway system in the province is beginning to take shape.
