Over 140 mineral deposits discovered in Shandong 2006-2010

Over 140 new mineral deposits were discovered in Shandong province from 2006 to 2010, according to the provincial Department of Land and Resources.

Shandong has approximately over 50% of the country's proved reserves of gold.

The new input mechanisms of prospecting have been set up in the province. The government guides, and mining enterprises, prospecting units and other investors are the joint capital contributors.

7 prospecting units in the province have been honored with a title of model unit by the Ministry of Land and Resources of China.
