As a part of the 10th China Art Festival, the 7th National Excellent Drama Performance will be held in Jinan and Laiwu from April 26 to May 11. The opening ceremony and the first show will be performed on April 26 at the Shandong Drama Theater. Mo Yan's drama Our Jingke and the drama Red Flag Canal preformed by Henan Modern Drama Theater will be turned into theatrical performances.

There will be 23 excellent dramas of 24 theatrical troupes performing in 7 theaters. With a total of 46 shows, about 2000 actors and 60000-strong audience will also be involved.

The festival's committee will also invite community artists to promote the performances.

As Lv Yuzhong, director of the Drama Division at the Provincial Cultural Bureau's Art Department explains, it is the first time for the National Excellent Drama Performance to be brought into the Art Festival.

He explains that this activity aims at provide "cultural benefits to the people." The event's organizer will also provide low-cost ticket options to support a large turnout.

Among these performances, two Shandong dramas of have been selected as excellent dramas, including Yan Fu, composed and played by Shandong Drama Theater, and the dialect drama, Families Living in Spring City, composed and played by Jinan Folk Art Troupe.
