After 10 years of formulation, China's Exit-Entry Administration Law took effect on July 1. The law pays more attention to the protection of the rights and interests of Chinese citizens and expats in China.
Under the law, the government will issue ordinary visas of corresponding categories to foreigners entering China for work, study, tourism, or business, which provides the legal basis for the introduction of the talent visa. The law also stipulates 4 visa-free conditions. Those who are qualified could apply for a temporary entry, residence certificate, visa renewal or Chinese Green Card.
Nearly 40,000 foreigners are now living in Shandong and the number of annual temporary entries granted is more than 800,000. The number of Chinese going abroad from Shandong is also rapidly increasing and the annual increase has reached 30 percent annually. In 2012, up to 150,000 people went abroad.
In response, Shandong Exit-Entry Administration has continuously improved their working methods and services to enable the introduction of talents.
