It was reported on Wednesday that in Rongcheng of Shandong Province, many enterprises have reached a consensus to develop through science and technology.
To construct an advanced zone for peninsular blue economy, Rongcheng has formed an overall policy system for the promotion of scientific innovation by introducing a series of supportive policies and establishing funds. With the government's help and guidance, enterprises of a certain scale can establish their own research and development (R&D) centers.
The city owns 28 provincial R&D platforms, five academic workstations and two post-doctoral workstations; and is in charge of 33 national key projects of "863" and "973." With the support of high-tech enterprises, Rongcheng's development has transformed -- depending on the available resources for innovation. The output value of the high-tech sector accounts for some 35% of the city's total, and science and technology contribute over 60% to the area's economic growth.
