Zichuan District in Zibo, Shandong Province, was recently approved by the China Architectural and Sanitary Ceramics Association to become a ceramic industry base. The project was launched in early September.
As it has a long history of producing ceramics and the industry is well-developed there, the district is known as 'Porcelain Town.'
128 ceramic enterprises are registered in the district with 217 production lines, which produce 600 million meters of ceramic tiles every year.
The district is also focused on ceramic industry upgrading through environmental protection, energy saving and emissions reduction.
