The exhibition of Western classic arts will be opened at the Shandong Museum in October. More than 350 masterpieces, including a self portrait of Da Vinci, will make their first visit to China.

It will be one of the main activities during the upcoming Tenth Art Festival of China. Apart from Da Vinci's self portrait, the magnum opus of artists like Michelangelo, Picasso and Dali will be on display.

This exhibition will feature three main sections: classics in Renaissance, classics in modern Europe, and contemporary classics, including "Saone River into Renoir River" by Renoir, "The Ghost in the Circus" by Chagall and "Dancer" by Degas.

It is the third time for Da Vinci's self portrait to travel abroad. Yet after this exhibition, the work will be restored and may stay put in Italy.

Leonardo Da Vinci, the most prominent artist during the Renaissance, had left people no chance to catch a glimpse of his face until the discovery of his self portrait in an Italian town, 2009. It is widely acknowledged to be the only authentic self portrait of Da Vinci.
