The deputy mayor of Weihai (Shandong province), Liu Guanghua, led a delegation to Singapore and Indonesia for economic and trade communication from September 4 to 9.

The 17th Shandong-Singapore economic and trade council was set up on Sept. 4 in Singapore. As the first strategic cooperative organization between Singapore and a local government in China, it shares a history of 20 years, building a platform for cooperation between both places. Liu boosted the signing of three contracts.

The 17th Shandong-Indonesia Economic and Trade Council took place on Sept. 6 in Djakarta. Liu introduced the construction of six key regions in Weihai, expressing his good wishes for further cooperation in fields such as the development of fishery resources and the rubber tire trade. He also initiated the co-investment in the Ocean Fishery Base Program on Sept. 7.

Four items were signed, with total investment hitting 460 million US dollars. During this period, Liu met with Li Xuemin, vice president of the Manufacture Association in Singapore; Zhang Lu, chairwoman of Treasureway group; Liu Hemin, president of Water Tech Pte Ltd.; and Huang Dexin, vice chairman of the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
