Art festival to be unveiled in Shandong

The Tenth Art Festival of China will start on Oct. 11 in Jinan and end on Oct. 26 in Qingdao.

A total of 17 cities in Shandong will host the festival. Jinan, Qingdao, Zibo, Yantai, Weifang, Weihai, Taian, Dezhou and Rizhao will be the main cities for the Wenhua Prize Competition. The 14th Wenhua prize Competition contains original, trimmed, adapted and altered traditional Chinese operas, dramas, children's plays, operas and musicals, as well as large-scale dance and singing performances.

Jinan, Qingdao, Taian, Weihai will be responsible for the Qunxing Prize, including the appraisal of three categories: Works, items, and "art stars."

Jinan will also play host to the National Exhibition of Great Artistic Works. Traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, sculptures, watercolors and gouaches from all over China during the past three years will be displayed via special invitations and public collections.

Around 90 selected dramas by national professionals will then meet their audience, along with around 310 performances by non-professionals and more than 600 collected and invited artistic works.

Audiences can also enjoy performances in form of a single item by national professionals.
