Shandong Province's rural tourism revenue is projected to exceed 100 billion yuan (US$ 16.5 billion) this year, according to the provincial tourism administration.

A batch of rural tourist brands has been cultivated, including Jiaodong Fishers' House and Yimeng House.

Tourism across 248 towns in the province is doing well. A total of 2,550 villages are developing tourism of scale.

Some 200,000 people in the province are involved in the rural tourism industry.

Provincial rural tourism revenues totaled around 92 billion yuan last year, accounting for 20.3 percent of overall tourism revenue.

Although the provincial rural tourism has developed rapidly in recent years, it does still present some problems such as low efficiency.
