Yantai, a coastal city of Shandong Province, was listed as one of the 10 best Chinese leisure cities, according to a 2013 China leisure city development evaluation released by the National Technical Committee on Leisure by the Standardization Administration of China and China Tourism Association on November 28, 2013.

The other nine cities were Hangzhou, Chengdu, Nanning, Ningbo, Suzhou, Qinhuangdao, Huangshan, Liuzhou and Changde.

The event aims to promote the construction of leisure cities as well as a perfect leisure product system and service quality.
