Eight county-level cities of Shandong Province were included on the 2013 list of the country's best "county-level" cities as unveiled on Nov. 28 by Forbes China, the Chinese-language edition of Forbes magazine.
They are: Longkou, Rongcheng, Jimo, Feicheng, Jiaozhou, Jiaonan, Wendeng and Tengzhou, according to their position on the list.
Three of them are located in Qingdao, a coastal city of the province.
Forbes China's new list seeks to rank the best counties in terms of their appeal to businesses and investors.
The county-level cities that made the list were mostly located in rich and developed regions around the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Bohai Sea coastal region. Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong provinces each had eight county-level cities featured on the list.
