China Qufu International Confucius Festival kicked off on September 28th, 2013. The variety show of the opening ceremony was cancelled, since last year's festival was labeled with thrifty. Iqilu live broadcasted the whole process of the memorial service.

The variety show of the opening ceremony was cancelled; as a result, a great deal of appearance fee of the big stars was saved. Confucius memorial service and the awarding ceremony of the Confucius Education Prize by UNESCO lasted for half an hour, teachers, students and other delegates taking part.

China Qufu International Confucius Cultural Festival organized a series of activities to carry forward Confucian Culture. To their joy, a great number of local folks took part in the festival.
