Adjust font size:

The State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) said that 96 of the 106 major power users in Sichuan Province, which lost power in the May 12 earthquake, had their power back on Tuesday.

Major power users include hospitals, government offices, coal mines, water facilities and chemical enterprises.

The total included all six users in Chengdu, 24 of Dengyang's 26 users, 58 of Guangyuan's 62 users and eight of Mianyang's 12 users, said the SGCC.

The SGCC also deployed emergency generators and reconstructed transmission lines to deliver power to the areas that were still blacked out.

The SGCC said that the grid reconstruction plan was being discussed.
