Aftershocks have destroyed some of the newly repaired roads. The road to Qingping town was ruined after two days of repair work. An airborne relocation team was called in to the village to rescue the survivors there.

Airborne troops sent 21 planes to relocate the 610 people trapped in Qingping town for eight days.)

One airborne soldier said "From this afternoon until tonight, the rain will go from medium to heavy, which is not good for relocation. Thus we use this morning to rescue as many as possible. Yesterday we had an emergency meeting and decided to implement this airborne relocation task."

These 610 people are mainly local farmers from Qingping town. The rest are from four nearby forestry centers, and one lumber mill.

Landslides and the destroyed roads meant these survivors were trapped, and they were gathered by the army to wait in an open field for relocation. After being trapped for eight days, these survivors were finally transferred to a safe place.

After 11 hours, 610 survivors were relocated to Deyang City. Those injured were sent to Deyang hospitals. A branch of the army remained in Qingping town to search for more survivors.
