On Tuesday, 31 of the injured were transported by air to Guangzhou, capital of Southern China's Guangdong province. Flight emergency exits were used to get the injured off the plane as quickly as possible.
To make communication easier, hospitals assigned medical staff native to Sichuan to oversee patient care.
Local government officials came to welcome the quake survivors and expressed hope the patients will feel at home here.
Xu Zhibiao, Vice Mayor of Guangzhou said "Guangzhou people will continue to do their best to help earthquake victims and contribute to the relief effort."
In northwest China's Shaanxi province, a special train carrying 248 injured people arrived at Xi'an Railway Station early Tuesday. They were immediately transferred to hospitals.
Nearly 2000 of the injured were transported to neighboring Chongqing Municipality for medical treatment.
Hospitals in Shanxi, Jiangsu, Yunnan and Shangdong provinces are also ready to provide medical assistance. They have arranged thousands of hospital beds and assigned medical staff to treat the injured.
