Chefs from central China's Henan Province are preparing nutritious and tasty noodles for quake survivors in Duangjiangyan City.

Yang Zhipeng is the leader of a team of 20 chefs. He runs a famous noodle chain in Henan and is a veteran volunteer.

Reporter: What do you have in there?

Yang: We have eggs, seasoning, flour, rice and other ingredients. Here is our bottled water, vegetables, garlic and 3 tons of coal. We know that the quake zone is short of coal. We have all the equipment here, including stoves. This is a movable canteen. We bought these things just before we left our hometown.

Reporter: How much did it all cost?

Yang: Altogether it weighs 26 tons and cost me 180 thousand yuan.

The volunteer chefs are living simply in the quake zone to save money.

"Last night we slept over there, on the cement area. If it isn't raining, we all sleep beside the road or on the grass. We find a dry spot, put the canvas down and sleep on it. If it rains, we sleep in our vehicles. "

The sauce is ready. It's time to make the noodles. Handmade noodles are a test of a chef's ability, so now it's time for the master chef to display his skills.

And hungry quake survivors can't wait to have a try.

"I think they're really warm-hearted. We feel so lucky and moved at meeting people like them after the disaster."

Yang's delicious handmade noodles have become a popular dinner choice in the area.
