In the 24 hours ending Tuesday noon, 171 aftershocks were monitored in southwest China's quake zone, according to the China Seismological Bureau.
Only one of the tremors measured above 4.0 on the Richter scale while all the others measured below 3.9, the bureau said.
A total of 10,068 aftershocks have been detected in the quake areas since May 12 when the 8.0-magnitude quake struck.
