Senior Chinese leader, Li Changchun, has finished his three-day inspection tour of Sichuan. The visit took him to many severely damaged areas, including Mianyang, Deyang, and Chengdu.

On Tuesday morning, Li Changchun went to Yingxiu town, where he met many local residents. He praised them for their indomitable spirit, which moved the whole country. He spoke highly of the local leaders' efforts to help the residents rebuild after the quake.
In the afternoon, Li Changchun visited the Dujiangyan Broadcast Station. He urged staff to speed up the repair of media equipment and the network, so that people in the quake zone can have access to the latest news and TV programs. The senior CPC leader also inspected damage to Erwang Temple. He emphasized the importance of preserving and protecting the historic site. Visiting quake victims in hospital, Li Changchun expressed his gratitude to the medical workers there.
On Monday evening while on the train, he exchanged ideas about the relief work with Sichuan provincial officials, urging them to stick to the central government's strategies for reconstruction.
