Zhang Lianzhen, female, Han nationality, is a native of Jianhu County, Jiangsu Province. She was born in 1951 and joined the CPC in 1973.

She graduated from the Biology Department of East China Normal University in 1974.

1983, She attended the graduate school of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.

1990—1993 Deputy Secretary of Xuzhou municipal Party committee.

1993—1995 Secretary of Secretariat, All-China Women's Federation.

1995—2003 Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province.

2003—2006 Deputy Secretary of CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee.

2006—2008 Deputy Secretary of CPC Provincial Committee and President of Party School Jiangsu Province.

2008—Chairman of CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Secretary of Party Leadership Group.

She is an alternate member of 17th CPC Central Committee , Deputy Secretary of the Jiangsu CPC Provincial Committee, and Chairman of the Jiangsu CPPCC Provincial Committee.
