The grand Mongolian musical drama,
Grasslands Legend will
treat Beijing fans to classic prairie culture. The performance is
slated to open the 7th "Meet in Beijing" International Art Festival
in Beijing on April 28th.
As the first musical originated in north China's Inner Mongolia,
Grasslands Legend not only retains the original essence of
the grassland ecology, but also embodies modern fashion
elements
The performance is also part of the activities celebrating the
60th anniversary of the founding of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous
Region.
With the origin, survival, and development of the Mongolian
ethnic group as its main thread, the musical includes three main
sections -- "Grassland Totem," "Vulcan Praise" and "Song of
Longevity Days" - reflecting the spirit and vitality of the
Mongolian people.
The classic musical mixes traditional art forms, such as the
"Long Tune," the "Khoomei," the "Wu Younger (Mongolian
storytellers),” "Izso Music (featuring greetings messages),” and so
on, with the Mongolian dance, musical instruments of integration,
in line with modern lighting, costume, sound, exploration and
innovation, to form a new performing art form.
The annual "Meet in Beijing" is a grand, integrated
international art festival, which is now in its 7th year.
The event this year will run from April 28th to May 26th, with
more than 50 troupes from 17 countries attending.
