Chinese Magician Wins International Prize

Chinese magician Shen Juan won one of the top prizes at the 79th Annual International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) Convention, according to the China Acrobats Association (CAA).

Shen represented CAA in the Stage Competition and became the first Chinese winner with a performance mixing magic with traditional Chinese dance, the association told Xinhua here Tuesday.

About 730 amateur and professional magicians, including two Chinese, attended this year's convention, held in Reno in Nevada, the United States, from June 26 to 30.

The IBM, founded in 1922, has 13,000 members and 360 branches in about 40 countries.
