Sculptor Li Chengsheng finished his stone carving, the Qingming
Scroll, and introduced it to the public on Friday.
The Shaanxi artist spent six years and used 2,500 carving knives
to finish the work. The sculpture is six meters long, 59
centimeters wide and 2 centimeters thick, with 838 characters
carved into the intricate design.
The original Qingming Scroll, by Zhang Zeduan, was an ancient
Chinese painting which portrayed scenes of Kaifeng, the capital of
the Song Dynasty during the Qingming period.
