Director Feng Xiaogang and Yin Li have been elected members of
the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political
Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's political advisory
body, according to a 2237-member list recently published on CPPCC's
website.

Actress Gong Li, a member of the ninth and tenth CPPCC National
Committee, is not included in the new roster. But her long-time
partner, director Zhang Yimou, was re-elected.
During the fifth session of the 10th CPPCC National Committee in
March 2007, Gong Li submitted two proposals on film-grading and
environmental protection.

session of the Tenth National Committee of the Chinese People's
Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
The CPPCC members are expected to highlight problems, convey
public complaints and submit suggestions at the sessions during
their five-year tenure.
