At the invitation of a culture company in Dubai, artists from Zhejiang Peking Opera Troupe in eastern China's Zhejiang province will give a performance on March 26 in Dubai. This will be the first time an art troupe from Zhejiang province has appeared on the stage of Dubai.

The show came about almost by happenstance. Not long ago, some high-ranking managers of a Dubai culture company saw an excellent show performed by the Zhejiang Peking Opera Troupe on a visit to the province. Impressed by the traditional Chinese art, they instantly invited the troupe to Dubai to perform in a large variety show.

The Zhejiang Peking Opera Troupe says the coming show will be a piece from the famous Peking Opera "The Monkey King," starring the winner of the Plum Blossom Prize, China's highest award for stage performance, Weng Guosheng.

The troupe has reportedly already been invited to take part in next year's performance.
