Renowned Chinese film director Feng Xiaogang was recently appointed as a guest professor at Dali University, newspaper Du Shi Shi Bao reported.

Since Feng Xiaogang set foot in the popular tourist city, university leaders have repeatedly contacted the director, hoping he would accept the position. The university hopes the appointment will offer students more opportunities to exchange their ideas about films.

Although he had just come to Dali for vacation, he eventually accepted this offer.

Feng enjoyed his time in Dali and was impressed by the beauty of city. He said he hope to make a literary film in Dali.
