The organizers had asked people to arrive early -- at least an hour or so before the start of the race. Despite this there were huge delays. It is hard to imagine how the current security system could work efficiently and quickly when the stadium is fully open.
Other things may worry organizers. For example, the thousands of empty water bottles and piles of garbage left in the stadium after the event. It was difficult to buy refreshments with the only food stores are located at the back of the stadium. And it was impossible to buy simple things like batteries for your camera. An official told China.org.cn that they would address these issues.
Even though not everything is ready, those who attended, including many tourist groups, were delighted to be able to enjoy the show and the pre-Olympic atmosphere. One tourist surnamed Chen said to China.org.cn, "What a wonderful place to hold the Olympics! I'm so lucky to be here. I feel so excited. I can't wait to see what surprises there will be when it goes into full operation with everything ready. "
