The largest music television network in the world, MTV, formally announced that its China Channel has been approved by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) to be broadcast through the private Olympic CATV network to all Olympic related competition venues and hotels. MTV China will reschedule their programming and launch the sophisticated program MTV Burr during the special coverage period.
Also, MTV will solicit online photos and videos with Beijing Olympics themes for the 100 Ways to Rock with Olympics promotion starting on May 1.
May 1 also marks the beginning of the 100-day countdown to the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The 100 Ways to Rock with Olympics promotion will be a witness to the enthusiasm of the young people for the Beijing Olympics. Any tidbit that shows off your Olympic Games knowledge can be submitted to the official website at www.mtvchina.com. The winners will be decided through an online poll.
MTV China is the only approved international music television channel. Thousands of viewers will receive MTV China's exciting programs through the private Olympic CATV network. The programs will be broadcast throughout all the Beijing competition venues as well as all the facilities and areas at the following sites: the Olympic Village, the Olympic Headquarters Hotel, the Main Press Centre (MPC), the International Broadcasting Centre (IBC), and the Media Villages for the Beijing Olympic Games as well as the BOCOG Building.

The sophisticated Olympic special, MTV Burr, is a 2-minute program produced by MTV China that introduces Beijing's special foods and leisure activities as well as the native dialect in order to help viewers experience as much Beijing life as possible during their short stay. MTV Burr will be a high frequency rolling broadcast to allow everyone to experience the splendor of Beijing.
