Three foreign models were arrested in the Philippines and fined 30,000 pesos (688 U.S. dollars) each by immigration agents for illegally working, media reports said on Monday.
American Samuel James Anderson, 26, Argentinean Claudio Andres Sisa Izaguirre, 25, and Chilean Bernardo Esteban Arriagada Belmar, 22, were arrested over the weekend for performing on the catwalk at the SMX convention center in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippine Daily Inquirer said in a report posted on its website.
Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan warned the foreign models against joining fashion shows again without the required work permits or they will be deported and placed on the immigration blacklist.
He reiterated his warning to all foreigners, including entertainers, models and athletes, that the Philippine Bureau of Immigration would spare no one in its drive against illegal foreign workers, the report said.
