Chinese director Feng Xiaogang's "The Assembly" and 2007 Golden Bear winner "Tuya's Marriage" dominated the 8th Chinese Film Media Awards, announced on Monday in Shenzhen.
Chinese mainland actor Zhang Hanyu, the hero of "The Assembly", and actress Yu Nan, the heroine of "Tuya's Marriage", took the Best Actor and Actress Awards respectively, sina.com reports.
Organized by the Southern Metropolitan News, the media awards also named veteran actress Joan Chen (or Chen Chong in Mandarin) as the Standout for the Year as well as the Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Sun Also Rises".
"I stand here 14 years after the first time I walked into a film studio," Joan Chen said, looking back at her career, "Today all the frustrations on the way seem worth it."
Hong Kong female director Ann Hui won the Best Director award for "The Postmodern Life of My Aunt".
