A newly discovered 30-minute tape of the Beatles recorded in 1964 was sold for 23,446 U.S. dollars to an Internet bidder by Auctioneers Cameo, according to media reports Wednesday.

The tape was recently discovered by a man in northern England while he was clearing out his father's attic.

It features Beatles members John Lennon and Paul McCartney laughing, chatting, and finally collapsing into giggles while trying to finish recording the ballad "I'll Follow the Sun."

At one point of the tape, Lennon said, "I'm not looking at you" and McCartney replied "You were."

Lennon then said "It's just going to get funnier and funnier as the evening goes on."

"Let's just try this once more and if it's the last one, that's hard lines," McCartney added.

Versions of the Beatles songs "I Feel Fine," "I'm a Loser" and "Don't Put Me Down Like This" are also recorded on the tape.

Auctioneers Cameo, the auction house in southern England, said the buyer requested anonymity.
