Kanye West has been released on bail after being arrested for allegedly damaging a photographer's camera.
The 'Stronger' singer was said to have approached the paparazzo, who works for gossip website TMZ.com, at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday morning (11.09.08), and "grabbed his camera, threw it to the ground and broke it into pieces".
The website report adds: "Our photographer was then approached by the road manager who "grabbed his camera, ripped off the microphone and viewfinder and smashed it to the ground."
The 31-year-old rapper was then arrested and taken to a police station in Los Angeles. Marshall Lowe, a spokesperson for the airport, said: "Mr. West was arrested at 7.51am outside the passenger screening area by airport police on charges of vandalism.
Initial reports say this incident involved a paparazzo and a camera valued at more than $10,000. "In addition, Mr. West's road manager was arrested for vandalism and battery. Several witnesses are being interviewed by police. West and his bodyguard are being transported to an LAPD station where they're expected to be booked."
The singer was released from custody at 12.53pm after posting bail of $20,000. He is due to appear in court for the charges on October 2.
