When will he finally get married? Andy Lau still won't give a straight answer. "I'd hate to announce news of my marriage in a newspaper," the Hong Kong actor told a media conference for his new romantic comedy Look for a Star (Youlong Xifeng) in Beijing.

Lau is rumored to be planning a 2009 wedding with long-time girlfriend, former Malaysian beauty queen Carol Chu, but has not confirmed the speculation.

Look for a Star is about two men's pursuit of love and happiness. Lau plays a wealthy businessman who falls in love with a poor girl (Shu Qi). Lau makes a very romantic proposal to her but says that in real life, the two words "marry me" to someone you really love are romantic enough. As for his definition of happiness, Lau reckons it is to have a lot of real friends around.

The film also co-stars mainland actor Zhang Hanyu, who just won the best actor award in this year's Golden Horse awards, known as Taiwan's Academy Awards, and Hong Kong actress Denise Ho. It opens on Jan 26, the Chinese Spring Festival.
