Popular writer Guo Jingming (L) and teen idol Li Yuchun |
Leading young-generation author Guo Jingming is the co-writer of teen idol Li Yuchun's new single - a theme song for the promotion of "Sichuan embroidery".
Both successful in their separate field, the two Sichuan natives collaborated for the first time in the effort to promote the local embroidery, an intangible cultural heritage.
Appointed as the "Messenger of Sichuan Emboidery", Li Yuchun managed to spare time from the busy schedule of her silver-screen debut "Bodyguards and Assassins", to join the making of the song. The pop idol - who shot to stardom as the title winner of talent show "Super Girl" in 2005 - stars a role in the upcoming epic film by Hong Kong director Peter Chan.
And the song's lyricist Guo Jingming, who rewrote the lyrics for four times, is one of China's best selling authors among young readers. He rose to the literature scene with fantasy novel "Huan Cheng" in 2003 at the age of 19, and published a few more hit novels and essay collections following the success of his 2003 debut.
In December last year, the young novelist signed up with entertainment label EE-Media, the engine behind hit talent shows like "Super Girl" in recent years.
Reportedly, Guo will serve as a lyricist and script writer for EE-Media.
