Wang Zhonglei, the president of the Huayi Brothers film company, has denied rumours director Feng Xiaogang will shoot a sequel to last year's romantic comedy hit "If You Are the One," the Xiaoxiang Morning Post reports.
Feng Xiaogang has decided that following his current project "The Tangshan Earthquake"(formerly named "Aftershock"), he will film a comedy but he has yet to choose a story.
"Right now he has three or four scripts he is considering," Wang revealed.
But a sequel to "if you are the one" is also worth considering as the rumours have stirred up great excitement, he added.
Feng Xiaogang was spotted dining with novelist and playwright Wang Shuo last month. It sparked talk that the old partners, who produced several hit movies and TV series in the 1990s, will collaborate again on a sequel to "If You Are the One".
However, Wang Zhonglei revealed that Wang Shuo will not be involved in Feng's new production.
"If You Are the One" took in some 3,400 million yuan in late 2008 and early 2009, setting a new record in mainland Chinese box office history.
