Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao sent a letter on Thursday to congratulate the founding of a Chinese paintings and calligraphy magazine.
The magazine, named "Chinese Painters and Calligraphers," was founded by the Central Research Institute of Culture and History.
In his letter sent to members of the institute, Wen said its members had made remarkable contributions to the art of Chinese painting and calligraphy by producing a number of masterpieces and by eagerly educating new figures in the field.
He urged them to work together with painters and calligraphers both home and abroad, to make further contribution to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
