China, already the world's top mobile telephone market, expects the total number of telephone users to rise by more than 15 percent this year to top 750 million.

During a national technology conference, the Ministry of Information Industry said China has added more than 90 million mobile and fixed-line users annually for four consecutive years.

The ministry predicts this year's new mobile telephone users will increase at a faster speed than new fixed-line users.
