China actually utilized about 4.1 billion US dollars of foreign direct investment (FDI) in January of 2005, a year-on-year rise of 10.72 percent, official statistics from Ministry of Commerce showed Saturday.
According to the statistics from the ministry, the contractual FDI in the first month hit 12.84 billion US dollars, a rise of 27.69 percent over the same period of last year.
In the same period, 3,563 new foreign-funded enterprises were clinched in China, up 22.27 percent.
By the end of January, 2005, 512,504 foreign-funded enterprises have been established in China. China's contractual FDI totaled 1,109.4 billion US dollars, with 566.2 billion US dollars in actual use.
