The growth in exports of machinery products in China has maintained momentum this year, with export delivery in the first five months reaching 248.04 billion yuan (US$30 billion), up 38.35 per cent year-on-year.
Statistics from China Federation of Machine-building Industry show that the value of export delivery by engineering machinery sector in the period grew by 119.03 per cent over the same period of last year.
Other sectors with increased growth in the value of export delivery include heavy-duty and mining, up 69.73 per cent; universal basic parts, up 51.21 per cent; petrochemical universal machinery, up 49.52 per cent; and automobile, 45.50 per cent.
Statistics also indicate that in the first five months, the machine-building industry as a whole achieved an output value of 1,471.477 billion yuan from products sold, a rise of 18.55 per cent year-on-year.
According to the federation, the products whose sales have grown rapidly in the period include large and medium-sized tractors, planting machinery, processing machinery for agricultural products, turbo-generators, boilers for power plants and steam turbines.
