Macao's Health Bureau has recalled two diet products from the market in a bid to protect the public health, The Macao Post reported Thursday.
The Macao Post quoted sources from the Health Bureau as saying that the Bureau has ordered all pharmacies, drug stores, beauty parlors and importers to stop selling the Spirulina Health Nutrition and the Third Generation Sea-weed Diamond Cellulose.
The two products, reportedly manufactured by a plant in Hebei Province of the mainland, contain the Sibutramine and Phenolphthalein that may lead to side effects including high blood pressure and breathing troubles.
The Health Bureau has opened hotline telephone numbers for the public to check information.
