A survey released by Automotive Resources Asia reveals that confidence in China's auto market has increased by 60 percent in 2005 over last year. The survey is based on information from 30 dealers of all major brands in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. In the survey, price remains the key driver for sales but brands are becoming more important. Rising fuel prices have significantly influenced purchases. Consumers currently prefer vehicles with smaller engines. Geely dealers are the most optimistic about their 2005 sales targets, while Chery, Honda and Shanghai General Motors dealers forecast sales to remain unchanged in the coming months.
