Volkswagen AG (VW) said Friday it has "more than 4,000 orders" from China for the new Passat Lingyu model.

VW's new top model in China was officially launched earlier Thurs-day, with deliveries starting over the this weeks, a VW spokesman said. The Passat Lingyu was developed in China for the home market. VW has produced Passat models in Shanghai since 2000 and has sold around 410,000 vehicles in China so far, the spokesman said.
