Lei Feng Spirits Marked Throughout China

Two college students are cleaning the public phones along streets in Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province on March 4, 2006. To mark the "Day for Learning from Lei Feng," which falls on March 5 every year, various activities have been launched throughout the country.

Lei Feng was a well known soldier who had become China's most famous symbol of sacrifice for others. Lei Feng was born in 1940 in central China's Hunan Province. and died on August 15, 1962, in an accident at the age of 22.
